Fabulous hostel!!! Great staff, met some great people, everyone was so friendly and kind. The staff helped us get our Trans-Mongolian train tickets. Fantastic facilities - free towels, tea and coffee, free use of washing machine and Internet. The location is brilliant and great atmosphere. Cannot recommend highly enough! soemmia322, England | Couple | 28th February 2010 * * * The best hostel ever!!:) Super close to the train station, clean rooms, bathrooms and showers. Also, it was really good that they offer shoe dryers! I would definitely stay here again when I go back to St.Petersburg in summer. aram, South Korea | Female 18-24 | 28th February 2010 * * * CIaran Potter, 28 February 2010 One of the best hostels i've been to, it is small and cosy so most gests will at least have conversations with each other if not talking the night away with drinks and trading of stories. The owners and the staff are really helpful and can give good suggestions of what to do for the day and if their doing stuff may even offer to bring you along. The is nicely coloured and there are lots of places guests can leave messages for each other and also a map marking all the hometowns of visiting guests around the world * * * This place has a living room with a vibe that almost makes you feel like your crashing at your best mate's place. Almost, because normally even your best mate wouldn't provide you with a good bed, or keep the place in tight order, with a very high standard in terms of hygiene. The location is excellent as well, very near the train-station at which Moscow trains depart and arrive. I would recommend this hostel to anyone!Gerben, Netherlands | Male 18-24 | 07th February 2010 * * * i think soulkitchen is a wonderful hostel very very clean with everything we need and also careful and polited staff always ready to help. also the decoration is very nice and original.to be near train station is an advantage and there are all necessary things very close, supermarket, atm, metro, restaurants, coffee..if i\'ll come back to s.petersburg i\'ll stay here for sure. 2 small things to improve: the bench to take off your shoes on the doorway and bigger duvet for the beds. pedro_aguiar8389, Portugal | Male 31-40 | 15th February 2010 * * * I truly enjoyed my stay in this hostel. Clean and cosy, colorfully decorated, everything made with love and care. Perfect location (1 min to railway station and Nevskiy Prospect). Special thanks to friendly staff for their help and smiles that made me feel like home) I sincerely recommend! Maryana, from Russia ~ 7th Jan 2010 * * * I have seen a lot of hostels, but this one is outstanding. It really deserves the name SOUL Kitchen cause the people working there really turn a normal hostel into a warm home. I spent a wonderful week there and I am definetly coming back!!! Jennifer, from Germany ~ 1st Jan 2010 * * * Best hostel I've stayed at. They made us Christmas Eve dinner! You feel like the people working at this hostel are really there to make your stay the best it could possibly be. That's not entirely rare with hostels - these do exist! - but the extent to which they succeed is very impressive. I highly recommend this place. Customer review - 30 December 2009 * * * Starting from check-in to check-out everything worked perfectly. Soul Kitchen is a very friendly place and one of the best hostels we've ever been to! Many thanks to the Soul Kitchen Team! Customer review - 24 December 2009 * * * It was the last stop of my "year travelling round the world" and the Soul Kitchen was probably te best place I've stayed in. Human sized, friendly&helpfull staff, cleanliness, everything was perfert. If you're lucky some night people from the staff can take you out ! julienkerfers8717, France | Male 25-30 | 18th December 2009 * * * Great location, clean environment, very friendly, helpful, cool chilled out staff and lots of free extras. Pancakes on Friday night, free laundry, free tea, free internet, free wifi and free international phone calls. They only have 2 toilets and 2 showers so during peak times this could be an issue BUT the it is a compromise worth making as everything else the hostel has to offer is great. In particular the staff they really made everyone feel at home and even helped guests buy their train tickets at the bus station by writing out instructions for them in Russian. Customer review - 08 December 2009 * * * The best hostel I\'ve ever stayed in! Even better than the hostels in Lisbon that are regarded as the best in the world. A small, friendly, hostel with great staff and owners who are also travellers and know what it takes to make a hostel great. Location is great for those arriving/leaving at Moscow Station. stevencocks9270, Australia | Male 25-30 | 15th November 2009 * * * A wonderful & homely hostel that really feels like home. Great location if starting or ending your trans-sib journey; conveniently located opposite Moskovsky station and only two metro stops from Finlansky station; great base for exploring The Hermitage and St.Isaac's. Rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Showers, toilets and kitchen are extremely clean. Lyuba and her staff are so friendly - you'll find it hard to leave. Stay here with confidence; truely a home away from home! Jazzanova, England | Male 31-40 | 15th November 2009 * * * Friendly staff, location is ideal for tourism, and plenty of nice bonuses, such as free coffee/tea, free laundry with detergent, free international calls. And what really surprised me is the inner design of the hostel - it is so beautiful that one doesn't want to move out of the hostel. Thank you, guys! Definitely see you again! qcheez6344, Sweden | Male 18-24 | 07th November 2009 * * * Look no further. This is a great way to ease into St.Petersburg. The only negative thing about staying at Soul Kitchen is that all future hostels will fail to match it on so many levels. Great staff, great location, comfortable and clean. They even helped me celebrate with a bottle of vodka when the airline finally found/returned my luggage. It was sad to leave but great to stay at Soul Kitchen! bermudadog2587, Canada | Male 31-40 | 10th October 2009 * * * This was a superbly good hostel. 5 stars aren't enough for staff friendliness and fun factor; add to this clean comfortable rooms, good living spaces and free internet and international calls and you have arguably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Craig, from England ~ 25th Sep 2009 * * * soul kitchen was by far the best hostel i've ever experienced in my euro travels. from the facilities- funky, clean, cool - to the staff who were the BEST- extremely helpful, sociable, and just KICK-ASS all round. if you DONT have a sense of humour, or dont know how to communicate with people or DONT know how to have a good time, DONT come to Soul Kitchen. If you DO know how to to laugh, drink, experience new things, then Soul Kitchen is the ONLY place to go! hands down =) xox Ronald, from New Zealand ~ 31st Aug 2009 * * * This is a fabulous little hostel right off Nevsky Prospect (St Petersburg's main thoroughfare). Bedlinen is free. Internet is free. International calls are free. Umbrellas are free. Breakfast is free (available 9am until a very reasonable 12pm :). A truly excellent place, very very recommended! Bartosz, Poland | 23rd August 2009 * * * This hostel is the best!!!! I have been to several hostels throughout the world, eastern Europe, and Russia. This hostel is easily the best one in eastern Europe/Russia and ranks very high among other places in the world that I\'ve visited. This is definitely the place to choose. The owner gives so much special attention to every detail of the hostel. The personal touches and attention to detail are of a standard that I\'ve NEVER seen in any other hostel. Ehjoy your stay! jakerrr, USA | 21st August 2009 * * * perfect! it would be a good news if all of the other hostels in europe are like that definitely come back kinchung3198983, Hong Kong | 19th August 2009 * * * 15 August 2009 Jason SpencerThis staff was very helpful especially olga who was amazing she answered all our questions and was always very helpful when we needed help, and her muffins are really good too!!! the services in this hostel are the best i have seen they even provide free long distance phone calls it was a great hostel!! * * * normal i don't write comments but i really owe them this one for the fantstic stay i had here. their kitchen is the most complete one i have ever seen in my years of travelling. If I came back to St P I wouldnt stay anywhere else. Thanks to Olga and the team. chef81723, England | 14th August 2009 * * * We enjoyed our stay in this hostel very much. It is not too big so you start feeling at home very quickly and even sleeping in a 12bed dorm for 8 nights felt like home. I can only be very positive about Soul Kitchen. Best place to experience St Petersburg from! jantienhijne8351, Netherlands | 13th August 2009 * * * Great hostel. Maybe a little far from town's main attractions, but close to the train station, and a great place to stay. Staff was very friendly and caring- definitely a place to meet people and have some fun, but also a good home base to explore the many sides of st. pete's. would definitely go back. nightonthesun, Russia | 02nd August 2009 * * * Cute hostel with a friendly atmosphere, felt like we were all one big family! Sarah, Australia | 28th July 2009 * * * One of the best hostels i have ever stayed at. Extremely friendly, loads of freebies, unlike other russian hostels its got enough toilets and showers, and I simply had an amazing time in st petersburg because of this hostel (i have also stayed at other st peterburg hostels and didnt experience the city this well), Its even got a hooka-pipe and a call-in hair dresser!!!! Vassilis, Greece | 23rd July 2009 * * * Our stay at Soul Kitchen Hostel was terrific. Especially the staff is very friendly, and was willing to help us with all sorts of questions. Nikita did a great job on getting us a taxi to the airport. The hostel is small (32 beds) but therefore very cosy and you feel at home immediately. The location is perfect for any combination trip to Moscow. We recommend anyone going to St. Petersburg to stay at the Soul Kitchen Hostel. earens2084, Netherlands | 23rd July 2009 * * * Awesome hostel run by people who obviously nkow what backpackers want!
